What’s a song that changed your life?
Songs do not change my life but they do change my mental perspective. For example, if I hear that guitar bit at the beginning of Peter Frampton “Do you feel…” it’s 1977 in my brain, I have no obligations or responsibilities- life is free and my mind is focused no further than Saturday night. Play Bill Withers “Lovely Day” from the 80’s and I could float weightlessly across the dance floor lost in the beat – I’m actually listening to that now and I’m chair dancing – Edgar Winter’s Frankenstein makes me feel like I’m a silly girl hanging out with boys who like rock music and I’m trying to appear coolThere’s a song from the 2000’s from Keith Anderson “Every Time I hear Your Name” that makes me feel like I did when I was a busy mom with 2 little kids and a country song about a break up seemed so romantic.
I enjoy the little time travel trips I take with music. However, every visit to the past leads me back to now and now is good. So I wouldn’t really want to change my life.
