Just Between Us

I have so much to tell you!

My Coffee Loves Me

I got a really good deal on a Nespresso coffee machine. REAL GOOD. You may have seen the commercials. It’s the one that leaves the thick crema at the top of the brewed deliciousness. I have played at making designs in the foam with my cream, but I’m not that good. Today I didn’t try and I just poured the cream out of the container at full speed. The regular act of pouring without trying left a perfect heart shape in the middle of the foamy top. My coffee loves me.

My grapefruit juice loves my shirt. So much that it jumped out of my mouth to become one with the collar. This happens to me more than it should, as I am a fully grown adult who has been drinking drinks for many years, and should have acquired the skill to successfully maintain the drinks in my mouth, but I get corner leaks a lot. And I have a Tide pen that gets to come out and PARTEÉ on a regular basis.

I am not a fussy or elegant person. Much in the way that I use the wrong word, or punctuate against the best advice of Mrs. Vonsprecklsen, 7th grade English, Chauncey Rose Junior High. (incidentally, the same junior high as the guy who won America’s Got Talent, although nowadays they call it middle school, I think). As I am most assuredly casual, I have set a standard that allows for drippy stains on my shirts. Expectations are low, just the way I like it.

I am so happy that Fall seems to be arriving finally. Some trees have gained color and the gloomy, clouded morning sky dimly lit with the “standard time” lack of full sun in the morning has made the weather outside appear Fall-ish. Unfortunately, it’s still 80 degrees and humid as a small bathroom after a hot shower. But the A/C inside here is freezing so it makes it seem like a cold day. I am easily tricked.

I am almost afraid to say this, but I am halfway through my coffee that loves me and I can still see the heart and I haven’t spilled any on myself. I again state that I should not have said that, because … there’s still time. And I totally believe my coffee loves me. It fits perfectly with the gloomy fall mood being set by the window and the A/C. Coffee, please don’t trick me.

I don’t have a moral to this story today. It’s just a slice of joy from my adventure packed life. Never a dull moment as long as raw-dogging life is fun for you. Mrs. Vonsprecklsen, if you are still around and if by any chance you happen on this missive – low probability, I’m sure- sorry for whatever I didn’t catch in editing. LOL as if I edit.

Until Next Time,

Your Friend, Tracy
